The Museum Beetle, Anthrenus museorum, also known as the Lesser Museum Beetle closely resembles the Varied Carpet Beetle. Museum beetles have antennae with 8 segments, Varied Carpet Beetle have 11 segments. The Museum Beetle is more common in Europe but has distribution in North America. Larvae infest museum specimens, woolens and silks.
